Transatlantic Partnership: Philadelphia & Frankfurt

🇺🇸 Did You Know? 🇩🇪

Philadelphia isn’t just the birthplace of American independence; it’s also been a partner city ofFrankfurt am Main since July 16, 2015.

In 1776, the Declaration of Independence was signed inPhiladelphia, proclaiming that the American colonies were „free and independent States,“ breaking away from the British Empire. This city also has a rich community of German emigrants.

Here’s a funny story: Benjamin Franklin was the oldest member of the Constitutional Convention in 1787. He was sometimes transported to meetings in a sedan chair by prisoners from the nearby Walnut Street jail.

In 2024, the transatlantic friendship between Germany and the U.S. is more important than ever. I experienced this firsthand during my studies in San Francisco and later while working in a global ad-agency in New York for a leading consumer goods manufacturer. I spent most of my career in management roles at major U.S. agencies before I founded COURAGE.

Global business enriches us all. Germany, as an export leader, is admired for its education and innovation. “Made in Germany” stands for quality and excellence.

Our nations have so much to offer each other. We integrated the American way of life in our daily life. Let’s continue to promote global trade and understanding. Isolation and protectionism aren’t the answers. Together, we can achieve so much more. Would you agree?
